America is gripped by Prohibition, banning the production and sale of alcohol. In protest, grimy backstreet bars known as speakeasies have erupted across the country, keeping the alcohol trade flowing out of sight.
Deaths in these disreputable establishments are all too common, the products of drunken rage or deals gone wrong. This is just another story of a good life, extinguished far too soon.
